And now the cast of "our little remodel":
Ray "Bashful Dwarf" Jorgensen. My father and owner of Classic Custom Wood, a cabinet manufacturer in Hampton, Iowa. If interested, you can check out his website at classiccustomwood.com. Dad has a lot of experience in home remodeling and is my "second brain" when I run into challenges. As you can see he doesn't care for having his picture taken!
Beau "Brick-buster" Jorgensen. This is my little brother, and he is a demolitions expert specializing in the removal of old chimneys. He also is the most "appearing" member of cast. Thanks for the help! Sorry about the pic bro, I didn't get one of you while you were here!
Ted "Ironman" Vosburg. This is Gina's dad. He has an engineering background and is helping us build some steel beams to open the house up a bit more.
Captain (James T) Curt Henrichs. Curt is Beau's father in law and is doing all of our HVAC work and the majority of our plumbing. I am clueless when it comes to the HVAC stuff and really don't enjoy doing plumbing work so we are happy to have our own version of Rich Trethewy (you This Old House fans will understand!)
Brandon (what exactly is he doing?) Pohlman. Brandon is a young man that Gina and I have known for several years now. A recent high school graduate Brandon has agreed to help me out now and then. And the ladies love his dance moves.
The Mayor! Jesse Fritz Newgard. Jesse and I are friends from college and both work for the same company today. He also was just appointed mayor of the town he lives in. That's right folks, I get my assistance from places of power!
Ann and Leesa, my Direct Buy girls! We joined Direct Buy prior to starting this project, and I would recommend them to anyone doing a renovation like this. We more than payed for our membership with the purchase of the windows alone. The level of service we have received from them has also been exceptional. I really can't say enough good things.
Ben Fisher of Fishsticks. Ben supplied our maple flooring and hardwood for the cabinetry and millwork for the project. Ben is not pictured because he was sweaty after unloading the flooring and wanted to look good for the ladies before his picture got taken!
Buck, the yellow lab and Boz, the curly black mutt! They are my extra set of hands... er... paws. They specialize in hiding in corners anytime a tool is turned on and checking out new scents.
Wow....if the home remodeling turns out as beautiful as your dogs you'll have a wonderful home. Love the doggie mud room!! Great Idea
